Volunteers

Volunteers are welcome and needed at St. Columban School to help provide the many programs, services and activities that we offer to our students and to assist in running school efficiently. Many opportunities are available for willing volunteers. To get involved, please contact the school office or the P.T.O.

All volunteers, including field trip chaperones, are required by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati to meet the requirements of the Child Protection Decree. (See below.) Visitors must sign in at the School Office and pick up a volunteer badge.

Archdiocesan Child Protection Decree

The purpose of the Archdiocesan Child Protection Decree is to prevent the abuse of children and to provide a pastoral response if incidents of abuse occur. The Decree requires employees and volunteers who have contact with school children to attend a Child Protection Workshop and to have a criminal background check. (be fingerprinted.)

St. Columban Parish offers the workshop and fingerprinting several times throughout the year to facilitate compliance with this decree. There are also permanent fingerprinting locations throughout the Archdiocese. For more information, go to the Archdiocesan website at catholiccincinnati.org.
