September 21, 1926

Today, September 21st is a very important day for our school. It was exactly 100 years ago today that our school opened for the first time.

On September 17, 1926, three Sisters of Notre Dame arrived from Covington, Kentucky. Sister Mary Anicetis (principal and teacher), Sister Mary Eulogia, and Sister Mary St. Clare arrived in Loveland. In their journal they wrote the following:

“Loveland is a small town located in the beautiful Little Miami Valley, surrounded by picturesque hills.”

“The shades of evening slowly closed that memorable day, but God’s blessing remained hovering over the newly chosen portion of His vineyard.”

On September 21, 1926, the school was opened with 38 boys and 32 girls for grades 1 to 8.

The sisters wrote:

“The good Lord will bless the noble work of their parents and Father Auer to provide this school”

May our Good God continue to Bless the students and staff as we celebrate 100 years!!

(Someone was able to take a photo of our students as they entered the school for the first day).
