Newsletter: Safety Drills, Grandparents Day, Meet the Teacher

Parents and Guardians,

We are extremely proud of our students and their response to the lockdown drill and fire alarm today. The lockdown drill went very well, with all classrooms secured and students following the directions of their teachers. These drills take more time than a typical fire or tornado drill, and our students and staff did a great job! Members of the Loveland Police and Fire Departments, along with Officer Vicky, were on hand to monitor the drill and discuss the protocol with us afterward.

We are grateful to the Loveland and Goshen Fire Departments, who quickly responded when the fire alarm sounded this afternoon. It offered the students the opportunity to put into practice what they learned during our fire drills, practiced only yesterday. When the alarm sounded, teachers quickly directed their students out of the building, and all were accounted for using our fire alarm protocols. We were outside for approximately 20 minutes and then were permitted to return to the building to finish our day. At no time was the alarm

system not functioning; however, the pull that was used yesterday in the fire drill did not fully reset. After 24 hours, the system alerted us that something was “off” so we could correct it. We are glad all is well and will always err on the side of caution should a situation like this occur in the future. Together, Bobcats are strong! May God’s peace be with you always.

Blessings,

Mrs. Muchmore
