WELCOME CLASS!
In sixth-grade religion, we will read about many colorful characters of the Old Testament and their relationship with God and learn from them how God wants each of us to live our lives. In social studies, we will look at many different civilizations and see how they prospered and declined throughout history. We will discover how sophisticated they were in their building and how ruthless they were in their governing.

Sixth-grade students will learn LARVA (Language Arts Reading Vocabulary Altogether)! The idea is to integrate these subjects together so that we are always strengthening our skills. Language Arts topics are recognizing parts of speech and generating well-written sentences, paragraphs, and formal writing pieces (letters, personal narratives, persuasive essays, etc). In Reading, we will tackle many genres, some great novels, and really concentrate on finding and using context evidence.
